The big ol blub of bubblegum Majin Bu. A character from the Dragon Ball Series. This is a render made for a Smash Ultimate mod featuring Majin Buu, specifically his model from Jump Force, over King K Rool. I made this render more or less out of a love for anime and dragon ball.

As for all my renders, I use an existing model (this one from Jump Force) and usually work my way up. But first, I had to take a raw rig and make a control rig. Using 3Ds Max's Cat Rig, I puppeteer'd Buu into the pose you see now.

Using various modeling techniques, I'll increase the polycount while watching for hard edges and UV stretching. I'll make my own materials, often using the same, or custom textures. I usually use a library of free materials to get the Bump and Normal of materials, like linen, cotton, leather.

Finally, I render it all using V-Ray. I render it in passes so I can then use Photoshop to apply any last minute edits and corrections.
